Congratulations to PCA’s Class of 2024 local scholarship recipients who embody the Triple-Impact Competitor model of making themselves, their teammates, and their sport better!
Tampa -- Positive Coaching Alliance - Tampa Bay, the local chapter of the national non-profit Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) that develops “Better Athletes, Better People” through youth and high school sports, has named its winners for the Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Awards from the high school Class of 2024.
PCA - Tampa Bay’s staff, mentors, and scholarship committee are pleased to announce the 25 scholarship recipients following the most competitive applicant pool the program has ever seen! Through networking and mentoring events held on Zoom and in-person at Amalie Arena, PCA was able to meet scholarship Finalists and additionally the students in the program had opportunities to meet with others who share similar values of personal mastery, leadership, and the importance of honoring the game.
“I enjoyed hearing about how the mentors have dealt with change. They made me feel more confident in my ability to make the transition to college and learn to get used to not playing my sport anymore. I can rely on the lessons I’ve learned through sports to work through change as I come across them throughout my life” said Emerson Lewis, recipient from Alonso High School in Hillsborough County.
Winners will continue their participation in the year-long program learning and gaining additional skills from business leaders and mentors, connecting with our Board members, and having the chance to highlight their schools and club athletic teams through various media outlets.
Scholarship winners will receive a $2,000 check in the spring of 2024.
PCA reserves the right to rescind the award in the event an award winner acts in a manner inconsistent with the principles of PCA.
